As many know, the word “boring” can have two meanings: as a verb it means “uninteresting” while the noun refers to a great presentation! Here we will talk about the latter and in particular its version with computer numerical control (CNC).

CNC drilling is a process that increases the size of a workpiece or casting. From kitchen appliances to construction, this method is commonly used in many industries.

We'll talk more about CNC drilling, how it works, where it's used, and give you some options for your own CNC drilling machine.

What is it?

A CNC drill enlarges a drilled or cast hole to a specific diameter. His righteousness is better than digging.

From semi-roughing to finishing. The prefabricated hole on the workpiece is expanded to a certain size with a rotating single-edge boring tool to achieve the required precision and surface roughness cutting.
The accuracy we can do: 
The boring accuracy of steel materials is generally up to IT9 ~ 7, and the surface roughness is Ra2.5 ~ 0.16 microns. 
The machining accuracy of precision boring can reach IT7 ~ 6, and the surface roughness is Ra0.63 ~ 0.08 microns.

Its characteristics

1. The tool structure is simple, the radial size can be adjusted, and holes of different diameters can be processed with a tool.
2. Can correct the original hole axis skew and position error.
3. The movement of the boring machine is more, the workpiece placed on the workbench can accurately adjust the relative position of the machined hole and the tool, to ensure the accuracy of the mutual position of the machined hole and other surfaces.
